Located in the international finance island of Nansha District, Guangzhou City, China, CIFI Nansha Yaoyue Bay is a testament to 10 Degrees Design's innovative approach to architecture. The design team drew inspiration from the interaction between water and nature, resulting in a space where guests can enjoy the coexistence of urban and natural atmospheres.
The design's unique properties lie in its ability to transform stunning sights from the surrounding island into interior decorations and sculptures. From the ripple-like decorations at the entrance to the irregular bench that mimics a dolphin leaping out of the sea, each element is artistically tied to water, reflecting the local culture's intimate relationship with this element.
10 Degrees Design's use of various materials and technologies further enhances the design's uniqueness. The reception's ribbon-like decoration is made of plated metal, while the manta ray decoration is crafted from resin and automotive paint. Other notable features include a wall lamp made of metal and LED, and a sofa constructed from wood, density boards, leather finishing, fabric finishing, sponge, and metal.
The design's interaction is another highlight. Curves are strategically placed to neutralize any tension caused by the closed space, simulating the latitude of the sea and the island. This design approach creates a rich beauty that can be appreciated from any angle.
The project, which started in January 2021 and was completed in June 2021, faced several challenges. The design team had to balance the representation of humanistic emotion and business value on the first floor, which was designated for display. By taking water as the clue, art decorations as the guide, and waterflow as the visiting route, they successfully merged the beauty of nature and art in the space.
In conclusion, 10 Degrees Design's CIFI Nansha Yaoyue Bay is a remarkable architectural feat that showcases the firm's innovative design approach. Its ability to harmoniously blend city life with nature, coupled with its unique use of materials and technologies, has rightfully earned it the Golden A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2022.
